History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. At some point he was captured by brigands and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has never given up on his writing dream.

Motivation: Many brigands want him driven away; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it
