Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He is frequently practicing swordplay.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His parents were killed by brigands in a raid when he was still a young child. The brigands captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Balam was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.

Motivation: He wants revenge against brigands.

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of gnolls may trigger it at times.

History: Carrie was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it
