History: Gilbert was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. Gilbert was born on a far western plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Detective. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes; and balancing his hectic life and new detective responsibilities is difficult
