Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Hugh alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
