History: When he was but 7 years old his parents immigrated from the south. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Bertram grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Bertram. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. A few years later when the east was not economically sound they moved to her current location. By chance she met her brother recently and the two have been together since.
