History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was born in the west, but her parents moved at a very young age to the north. Katherine was born on a far western desert where she grew up under the tutelage of her father, an expert Engraver. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
