History: Shane hails from a village terrorized by drow. Through the years after Shane was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Shane's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: Born in the south to a Interpreter, Melissa learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. Her parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when she was still a young child. The dire rats captured her, and made her a slave and general play-thing. She was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to her deformed appearance. She has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Interpreter.
