His black hair is cut short. He is missing an eye and his face is severely sunburned. His one remaining eye shines violet.

Personality: Conrad hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his poetry career. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: He was born into a rich family. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered poetry. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. He is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Clerebold was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

The war was a terrible time for her, and Jacoba does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She has never given up on her writing dream.

Motivation: She loathes her own lifestyle; and she feels the way she acts is they only way to get by in the world
