Personality: He is a man who does what he needs to. He will acquiesce to black mail and extortion to avoid trouble. He will often invite strangers home for dinner and talk their ears off. He cares deeply for his spouse and does his best to make sure his guests look presentable.

History: Gifted from a young age, Conrad studied abroad. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Conrad grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Conrad. Being a Shipwright kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: He comes from a rich eastern family. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and a rival would like him out of the picture

Personality: She likes to fabricate stories about her past exploits and how crazy she is, but in actuality she is rather bland. Her home and work are filled with various knick knacks she has acquired through the years. She cares a great deal for her adopted teenage daughter.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: Regain custody of her daughter; and to end her boredom

Description: A middle-aged man, he is renowned for his bright blue suits and hats, and is pretty ugly. His white hair is braided into rings. He has gleaming, smiling blue eyes.

Personality: He is happy with his job as a Bather. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. He is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: He got into the Bather business at a young age. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister
