History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. Through the years after Diggory was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Diggory's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. A freak accident while working with her Glassblower mother left her crippled. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

She wears her black hair up in a very large beehive style do. She was beautiful and young once, which still shows through her age, but it is a faded beauty.

Personality: She can speak with the recently deceased. She disdains her fellow westerners, claiming they make her look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: She was born in the west, but her parents moved at a very young age to the north. Ostracized due to the martial powers of her oldest sister, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. Unlike her family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, she wanted to work in the city. She has been working here for the past few years.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Dean embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. He is used to getting what he wants. In part because he is a meticulous planner.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Dean was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. After a long history of fighting, Dean and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs.
