History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Katherine grew up listening to her father's many stories. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. Some 10 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Katherine never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her father had trained her before.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
