Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Cecily grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Cecily. She has achieved small success as a Adventurer.

Frederick's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
