History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Adelard was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs
