History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Architect arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Gerard grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Gerard. Some 4 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter.
