History: Emmeline lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
