History: Heir to a fortune, her parents put a great deal of effort into curing her disease. In her 10th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Ahlyssa alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: Theodoric hails from a village terrorized by illithids. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered north to less war torn lands. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.
