History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Manfred hails from a village terrorized by illithids. He dropped out of school to support his sick mother, and resented it. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Personality: He trusts no one. He is not readily capable for forgiveness and his ire never leaves him. He works hard and plays hard.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. Through the years after Nicholas was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Nicholas's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions
