History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. After coming to the age of reason, Gerard took it upon himself to study the martial arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. He will do just about anything if he becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this he is easily convinced.

History: Charles hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. At some point he was captured by dire rats and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it.

Personality: He hates Humans with a passion. As such he is filled with self loathing. He is accommodating to his spouse and as such limits his hospitality. He is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven himself a capable leader.

History: Justin was born with his father's beautiful face. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. Some 8 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Justin never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Human people; and he loathes his own lifestyle

Personality: She is irascible and easily irritated. She is an amazing painter.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. A serious injury left her father unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm father. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: To pay off her debts; and she seems to be bored by most things
