History: She was born into a rich family. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Melissa's homeland. Melissa decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

History: She was born in a small plains village. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: An old rival family wants her found.
