The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: A grumpy gal she will invite people to lunch so she can critique them. Yet she still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. She moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep her interest for a month it is impressive.

History: Avelina was born the youngest of three triplets. She was taken from her home at a very young age. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: She is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get her out.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His arcane abilities were realized during a raid on his village. After a long history of fighting, Balimaar and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. He is accommodating to his spouse and as such limits his hospitality. He is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven himself a capable leader.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Miles was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Mason. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.
