After coming to the age of reason, Jocelyn took it upon himself to study the arcane arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He became a Scribe soon after.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and balancing his hectic life and new scribe responsibilities is difficult
