History: Hugh hails from a village terrorized by brigands. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He is greedy; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for him. He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Dyer arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He now spends his time doing works of charity.

Personality: She is filled with cunning. She likes to feign weakness letting people think she is weak. A true patriot, Matilda would do anything for her country. She is fiercely protective of her fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: When she was but 5 years old her parents immigrated from the north. When Matilda reached her early adolescence her Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Personality: He likes to brag about his accomplishments and constantly tries to beat others to the punch. He has a minor phobia of water and hates getting wet.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Hubert was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Barrister hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He feels threatened by others; and he is wracked by social anxiety
