History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Ernest was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He is curt in most of his responses. He prefers to keep his word usage to a minimum to avoid giving away unnecessary information. He is lazy and tries to find solutions quickly.

History: Hubert lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: His relatives are trying to arrange a marriage; and doesn't want to be a stylist and was forced into it by his family

History: Herleva was raised in a hard working conservative environment. A gifted student she started as a Barrister, but she got bored and became a Cartwright. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: She wants to meet her childhood hero; and balancing her hectic life and new cartwright responsibilities is difficult
