Personality: He is quite gentle and does not know the full extent of his strength. He works very hard to maintain that gentleness. He has the money to obtain near anything and knows that if you pay a man enough he will sell his own mother. Money is his most trusted friend.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Dean was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: She is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before her hampering stammer kicks in. She keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to her own.

History: Matilda was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Matilda grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Matilda. She struck the Cartwright job and began her own company from there.

Personality: Here is a woman who knows she is the smartest in the room. She talks down to others constantly. She is fiercely devoted to her mother, and views her mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-sister.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when drow swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her first spouse was a Baker, they had one son, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Marry her sister to traveling adventurers.

Personality: She is a melancholic, but persistent worker. She resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of orcs may trigger it at times.

History: Born in the east to a Soapmaker, Sarah learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. As a young child she wandered into the woods despite her father's warnings against it. Afterwards she claimed she had encountered orcs who tried to eat her hand. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

Motivation: She wants revenge against orcs; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
