Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Ernest is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Personality: She is mildly Human supremacist, though she does not identify as such. She does not believe in violence as a means to an end. She is a dedicated Painter but believes her peers are too gung-ho.

History: She was born in the north, but her parents moved at a very young age to the south. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. She left for the north, certain she would find work there.

Personality: She is extraordinarily passive and rarely speaks, let alone speaks her mind. Eleanor is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her sisters into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: She was born into a rich family. Ostracized due to the martial powers of her oldest sister, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: She has money and likes to spend it; and doesn't want to be a navigator and was forced into it by her family

Personality: She cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with her opinion, she thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, she can get violently argumentative. She is a big fan of imagination and believes people should spend more time reading and writing.

History: When she was but 4 years old her parents immigrated from the south. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. Oriel was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.
