History: Cecily was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Detective responsibilities is difficult.

Personality: Confrontational and typically high on some drug or another. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. After a long history of fighting, Gomory and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: Expand his business; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help

Description: This man is moderately tanned and has just the faintest trace of an accent. He does not wear sleeves and tends to eschew shirts when he can avoid it. He wears a Stetson hat to hide his balding. His violet eyes have a joyful gleam in them most of the time.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. He lacks restraint and is impulsive. He jumps in and acts without thinking all too often.

History: Born to a Mercenary, his mother struggled to pay the bills. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and regain custody of his daughter

Description: Dark and lean, she is a relatively plain woman. She is well dressed, but even with her fine clothing she looks run-down. Her brown hair is slicked back into a classic pompadour. Her eyes, though not visible through her cowl, are gray.

Personality: She has schizophrenia that causes her to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. She disdains her fellow southerners, claiming they make her look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: She was born in the south. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: She would like to get married and retire; and obtaining odd cultural human artifacts is her passion
