Personality: She is a melancholic, but persistent worker. She resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. She pushes her goals aggressively. She is also a coward if confronted.

History: Katherine lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She feels kind of lost in life; and to unite with her brother

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Tim was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion.
