History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Katherine was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Katherine decided she wanted neither the life of her father nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. As of late she has set up a hidden staging nest where she ambushes people she hires for escort.

Motivation: She will attempt to ambush and attack anyone she thinks she can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, she will try to sell them to her slave-trader contact.

History: He was born in the south, but his parents moved at a very young age to the north. His father worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled father and took his father's old job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: He uses money and sex appeal to get what he needs; and retire the richest man in the south

Personality: She acts crazy and hedonistic. She lacks restraint and is impulsive. She jumps in and acts without thinking all too often.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. She worked as a nervous Layabout and found it very stressful. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Layabout for the past few years.

Personality: He is mildly Human supremacist, though he does not identify as such. He is used to getting what he wants. In part because he is a meticulous planner.

History: Tim was born the youngest of three triplets. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
