To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Egelina. She now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

Personality: She is not truly malevolent, but she is obsessed with painting. She constantly tries to fill her life with painting. She can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. In her 15th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her mother impaled in their home, and her father beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She was granted divine powers by her dying sister.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Eva embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. She spends most of her days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There she gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Eva was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. After a long history of fighting, Eva and her spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He is extraordinarily eccentric. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. His father worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled father and took his father's old job. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Baker they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Miner, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
