History: Jocelyn hails from a village terrorized by brigands. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Jocelyn alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Heather lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Her first spouse was a Body Guard, they had one daughter, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone.
