History: Hugh hails from a village terrorized by goblins. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Painter. Recently the stress of being a Painter has made it difficult for him to sleep.

Personality: Gerard is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: He comes from a rich eastern family. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Beggar. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and he has money and likes to spend it

Description: A middle-aged woman, she dresses in brown turtlenecks beneath a black coat with brown slacks, and is pretty ugly. She wears her brown hair down. Her ears are large.

Personality: Her voice, at times compared to that of a Nymph, lambasts those who consider themselves "civilized" with snide, belittling remarks; the subtle growl she speaks with growing louder in doing so, one can find it most pronounced, despite the otherwise natural purity of her tone. She is able to make almost anything out of random pieces of junk.

History: Millicent was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Sabotage a competitor.
