History: Joan hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Roland was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He became a Ploughman soon after.
