She was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. After a long history of fighting, Melissa and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving John alone in the world.
