History: When she was but 3 years old her parents immigrated from the west. Joan was born on a far western island where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Healer. Some 6 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Joan never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He used his abilities to travel the world and help people.
