History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Emma was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He was born in the west. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, gnolls burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying west to reunite his family. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.
