History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Because her mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her father from journeying west to reunite her family.
