He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

History: She is a Maurezhi in disguise. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Human companion (her 'brother'). She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and he doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes
