History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. At some point he was captured by illithids and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
