History: Born in the north to a Bellfounder, Emmeline learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. A serious injury left her mother unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm mother. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Sage they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Bellfounder, and she later adopted a second son.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Bather hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Emma was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the dire rats.
