The family never returned to the plains due to the painful memories there. Matilda took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up scythe and armor she uses now. She has never given up on her dancing dream.

Personality: Roger wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Paladin, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Scribe arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His arcane abilities were realized during a raid on his village. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Description: Her left thumb is blackened and bruised, but otherwise she appears quite healthy. She is bundled in multiple layers and is prepared for a desert trek wearing a turban that covers her face most of the time. Her brown hair is greying along the sides and has receded to reveal a widow's peak. Her face is full, her cheeks are rosy, and she always seems to sport a perfect smile and a twinkle in her brown eyes.

Personality: She shows great sympathy to all travelers. She's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. She is able to fit into much smaller and tighter spaces than normal.

History: A child with a great deal of painting talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She became part of the deadliest team of assassins in recent memory. A botched job caused the group to be disbanded. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: She will attempt to ambush and attack anyone she thinks she can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, she will try to sell them to her slave-trader contact; and seeks redemption

Personality: She can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. She disdains her fellow southerners, claiming they make her look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Helen grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Helen. She would ruin relationships and cause injury. She was reprimanded several times before being given her current form and forced to learn humility.
