History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He's since become an addict/alcoholic.

History: Aline hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In her 18th year, her parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Aline alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and she desires to right it
