History: Avelina lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Her mother was very strict, and drilled into her lessons on being the perfect lady. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion; and doesn't want to be a mortician and was forced into it by her family
