To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Bertram. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Since her mother passed away years ago, her father had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Tim's homeland. Tim decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He has never given up on his writing dream.
