History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Blacksmith and was forced into it by his family; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Her first spouse was a Tailor, they had one daughter, but her spouse won total custody. Without her spouse to temper her she grew out of control. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Motivation: Regain custody of her daughter; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion
