His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Charles took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up scimitar and armor he uses now. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Charles was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.

He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. He constantly seizes attention wherever he goes and has come to expect this respect from everyone. He likes to think of himself as merciful, but nonetheless is very strict.

History: The child of a Guard, who enjoyed hunting, Dean was taken on many hunting expeditions. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
