History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. In her 10th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Mary alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She now spends her time doing works of charity.

Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in.
