History: A powerful wizard made her what she is. She always admired necromantic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She was granted necromantic powers by her dying sister.

Motivation: She is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions; and her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. A freak accident while working with his Knight father left him crippled.
