History: A powerful brothel owner made her what she is. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. He tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and to share knowledge with the world

Personality: A rambunctious noisy drunk he knows how to make people feel guilty. Flattery will make him almost putty in your hands.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Bernard grew up listening to his father's many stories. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and he has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day
