History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Robert was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Robert grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Robert. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

History: She was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Her mother worked until she suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. She had to support her now crippled mother and took her mother's old job. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of her sister.
