History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Mercenary work with an outfit from a few towns over. Mercenary work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Personality: He does not care much for physical appearances, nor does he care much for other people. He does however care about what he wants and getting it. He cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist he will grow angry at them.

History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. After a long history of fighting, Roland and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion.
